We actually run a dedicated session just on sewing machines: what the different functions really do, how to think about budget, and how to pick sensibly for whatever's sold near you, UK or anywhere else. The brand name matters far less than the answer to one real question — are you buying this for yourself, or with an eye toward eventually taking orders? That's what actually decides what you need, and it's something our support managers walk you through directly, one on one, rather than leaving you to guess from a spec sheet in a shop. Students who've joined us from London had zero experience and no idea where to start on equipment either — they're now stitching and designing with real confidence. Not recognizing the brands on a UK shelf isn't a reason to hold off starting.
