I have been watching free videos for almost a year and I can manage basic stitching now. My problem is that every person teaches differently and I have ended up with lots of saved videos but no proper learning path. I am wondering if paying for a course will actually make a difference.

What you're actually missing is the sequence things should happen in, and someone to ask when a step doesn't work the way the video showed. So when you're weighing a paid course, don't just compare it to YouTube — ask what path it gives you and how you'll get unstuck when you inevitably do. That's the gap a good course is meant to close.
